Like many other residents Elena lived a normal childhood in Mystic Falls, she smiled and made friends in her lifetime she would never loose. Elena was born to (or so she thought) to Miranda and Grayson Gilbert on June 22, 1992 in Mystic Falls and for the first 17 years of her life, lived there peacefully for 17 years, with her parents, Miranda and Grayson Gilbert, as well as with her brother, Jeremy. They led a quiet small town life. Until Elena discovered that her parents weren't who they said they were. John's brother Grayson and his wife Miranda, who desperately wanted to have children but were having difficulties conceiving, adopted Elena following her birth. Because Grayson was a doctor, he was able to tamper with the birth records, making himself and Miranda appear as Elena's biological parents on her birth certificate. If anyone ever became suspicious, they would have the birth certificate as documentation proof.

As time went on Elena discovers the her parents were aware of the existence of vampire and witches and that they were in Mystic Falls, and in fact her father was part of the Augustine at Whitmore College.and even experimented on vampires in the basement of his Mystic Falls clinic. In fact, in 1999, when Elena was seven, she almost witnessed one of her father's experiments. But her adoptive parents were in a car accident and came of the wickery brigde, and drowned she only made it out because of Stefan Salvatore, he went to get Grayson out who motioned over to Elena and Stefan got her out and swam back up and by the time Stefan got back down there her parents had died. So Elena, Jeremy and Aunt Jenna who was with them at the time had to come to terms with the death of Miranda and Grayson.

Elena was dating Matt Donovan at the time of the death but she longed for something more, they had been together since forever as it felt, and she felt bad for leading him on but they broke it off and still remain close friends with Matt and was always there for him. When she went back to school she met a Salvatore, Stefan and they bumped into eachother and Elena was always glad that happened. Her and stefan were happy together he trusted her with his biggest secret he was a vampire. They were together for a while until Damon began to feel for Elena.

Damon was born to Giuseppe Salvatore and Lily Salvatore on June 18, 1839 in the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. His younger brother Stefan Salvatore is eight years younger than him, and the two were very close when they were human. He joined the Confederate Army at some point, coming back when he was on leave to spend time at the Salvatore Estate. It is unclear when Damon first met Katherine Pierce, but he left the Confederacy and returned to Mystic Falls to spend more time with her. In 1858 his mother Lily dies of Consumption, he will later learn in 2013 this was not the case. Damon had promised Stefan that he would write his mothers eulogy and say it at his mothers funeral. Just before the funeral, Damon comes to Stefan and helps him get dressed. Stefan says that father told him not to cry. Damon replies with that he is a child and that if he feels the need to cry that he is allowed. Saying all of this, Damon doesn't even turn up to the funeral. Instead he got wasted, returned to his younger brother who was angry with him for not turning up.

It is uncertain how or when Damon found out that Katherine was a vampire, but unlike Stefan, he did not fear or reject her, and willingly drank her blood. She once demonstrated to him one of her tricks for securing victims, which was lying in the middle of a road to stop any travelers that may come to pass. Though he showed an initial hesitance, Damon even kissed her while a victim's blood still stained her lips. Damon wanted to give up his human life and spend an eternity with Katherine, and he begged Stefan to keep the secret from their father, who was a member of the Town Council and a vampire-hater. When Stefan inadvertently revealed that Katherine was a vampire, she was taken away by the townspeople. Their father was furious and scolded Damon for trying to conceal her secret and protect her. Damon was furious with Stefan, but Stefan agreed to work with him to rescue her. In the midst of their daring plan, they were both shot and killed by Giuseppe, who was ashamed of his sons for sympathizing with and loving a vampire. They both died with Katherine's blood in their systems, but Damon awakened first and witnessed the burning of Fell's Church, where the townspeople had imprisoned the vampires, including Katherine. When Stefan awoke the next morning, Damon told him that Katherine's death meant his reason for living was gone, and he wouldn't complete his transition into a vampire. Later that day, when Stefan returned after being unable to resist feeding on his own father, and inadvertently completing the transition, he forced Damon to drink from a young woman's neck, causing Damon to also complete his transition. He promised Stefan an eternity of misery, not for making him turn but for the fact that Katherine had turned Stefan as well, instead of just Damon. At some point Damon received a daylight ring from Emily Bennett. She told Damon that she had spared the vampires in the church, which Damon kept secret from Stefan until 145 years later, when he would be able to free Katherine from the church.

In April 1994 (after Kurt Cobain died) , Damon with his humanity still off, shows up on Stefan's doorstep, wanting to make amends. Zach Salvatore, the owner of the house and their nephew, allows Damon in on Stefan's promise that he'll keep him in line. Zach has been living with Gail who is pregnant with his child. Stefan warns Damon to stay away from them claiming that both of them are on vervain. One day, at a party, Damon flirts with a young Liz Forbes. Stefan takes a picture of Zach and Gail and notices bite marks on Gail's wrist. He then confronts Damon about feeding on Gail and after Damon compels Liz to forget ever meeting him, Damon breezily confesses that he swapped out Zach and Gail's vervained coffee for a little in-house feeding. An angry Stefan reminds Damon that these people trust them and then snaps his neck. Damon wakes up in the shed without his daylight ring. Stefan wants to know what Damon's really doing there, and Damon says he wanted to feel a connection to his humanity again. He tries to convince Stefan to go on a road trip with him. Instead, Stefan reminds Damon of all the times he's ruined his life and how he can't seem to help doing it. Damon gets it that its a no for a road trip then.  On May 10, 1994, Stefan and Zach hear screams and rush to the library to find bodies everywhere and Damon covered in blood, holding Gail hostage. He demands his daylight ring back from Stefan, who returns it, realizing he'll never be rid of Damon. Damon gives his own version of their past. Damon says, "In 1912, I showed you who you were, Stefan. In 1942 I gave you your freedom and in 1977 I almost killed your best friend because it should have been you there to help me. You owe me. It'll take you an eternity to pay me back.". Then he kills Gail by attacking her and leaves.

Damon turns a woman named Isobel into a vampire after she asked to be turned by him. He'll later meet and fall in love with her daughter Elena Gilbert who will also be turned into a vampire by his blood but not on purpose. Damon is now in Mystic Falls and in love with Elena let's see if his humanity switch can stay on!

Stefan Salvatore was born on Veritas Estate in what would become the town of Mystic Falls, Virginia to Giuseppe Salvatore and Lillian Salvatore on November 1, 1846. Sometime in his life during his childhood, his mother got very sick and deciding not to spend any time with her, he instead did whatever he could do to avoid her, such as walking into Mystic Falls and getting the tea she liked or picking out her favorite flowers. Whereas he pretended that he doing it for her, he was just afraid to see her in a sick condition. Sometime later, Giuseppe sent her away but then she had died of consumption (which is another term for tuberculosis). After that, Stefan lived with his father and his older brother Damon Salvatore. Stefan is seven years younger than Damon. Despite the semi big age difference, Stefan grew up to be the best of friends with his brother and had even said that Damon was his best companion, despite having other friends growing up since his childhood. Stefan had a rather close and good relationship with his father, the complete opposite of Damon, who appeared to have had a rather strained and tension-filled relationship with Giuseppe. Personality wise, Stefan was seen to be kind, caring, compassionate, introverted, intelligent, well-spoken, responsible, dutiful, noble and an overall respectable young gentleman. He was also very attractive and appealing to the opposite sex and he had zero problems attracting female admirers (with one of the most notable ones being Katherine). One day in the woods, during the year 1864, before he became a vampire, Stefan was fixing a broken carriage when a man who was riding a carriage carrying Katherine Pierce and Emily Bennett had stopped to talk to him. This is when Katherine had first seen Stefan and described that she was instantly drawn to him and attracted to him

In 1864, Katherine and Emily had come to stay at the Salvatore Estate. When Stefan had met Katherine, he had become strongly attracted to her and eventually had fallen in love with her, as did his brother Damon. However, despite Damon's feelings for Katherine, it seemed to be evident that the younger Salvatore was Katherine's preference as it was Stefan that she had asked to escort her to the Founders Ball. One night, Stefan and Katherine had spent a passionate night together. Another night, Stefan and Katherine were spending a passionate night together when she suddenly bit Stefan. It was during that time when Stefan and Katherine were making love that Katherine revealed her true identity to Stefan and that she was a vampire. It is unknown if Katherine had compelled Stefan to forget after she had bitten him. The next morning after their passionate affair, Stefan awoke with a bloody wound on his neck, and the previous night slowly returned to him. He was clearly frightened of her, saying that her face resembled that of a demon and also told her to get away from him. To calm him down, Katherine compelled him to not be afraid of her. After hearing of the town's plan to kill the vampires, Stefan went to see his father Giuseppe and unintentionally hinted to him that he knew of vampires staying in Mystic Falls when he suggested that vampires might not be as bad as they are made out to be. During this conversation, his father tricked Stefan and drugged his alcoholic drink with vervain. When Katherine went to see Stefan that night and bit him so that she could feed on his blood as a form of foreplay, the vervain within Stefan's blood had poisoned and incapacitated her. Stefan was confused, worried and concerned about what was happening to Katherine and could not understand why Katherine appeared so sick and weakened all of a sudden. Giuseppe, hearing Katherine collapse, entered Stefan's room. He then told Stefan that he had tricked Stefan and had put vervain in his drink after Stefan had asked his father how he knew about Katherine and other vampires existing because "he did not raise his sons to be so weak. Giuseppe than urged Stefan to let the sheriff know that they have another vampire in Katherine captured and for him to go the sheriff as quickly as possible. Giuseppe then set in motion Katherine's capture, which corresponded with a town-wide vampire round-up. Later, finding out what had happened with Katherine being captured by their father, Damon was extremely devastated and furious with Stefan, as Damon had made him promise not to tell their father about Katherine. Damon ended up blaming Stefan for Katherine's capture although it was not ever Stefan's intention on hurting or betraying Damon and outing Katherine.

As a result of indirectly betraying Damon, Stefan felt extreme guilt for unintentionally being responsible for Katherine's capture and promised Damon that he would do everything he could to help Damon get Katherine back. They then planned a course of action to get around the guards who were on watch for the vampires, and eventually made it to the cage where Katherine was being held captive. They got Katherine out of the cage, but as soon as they were ready to escape with her, Damon was shot by an unknown person. Shocked and overwhelmed with grief to see his brother dying, Stefan picked up a gun to shoot whoever had shot his brother, but before he could do so, Stefan was also shot directly in the chest. He slowly lost consciousness as he watched Katherine, who lay on the ground nearby, still weakened by the vervain. Once Stefan died, Katherine returned to Stefan's body and let him know that she loves him. .

The next morning, Stefan woke up confused and dazed. He searched for his gunshot wound but found he had been healed, and noticed that he was a wearing an unfamiliar, large silver ring, with a deep blue stone and the Salvatore family crest with the letter 'S' on it. Emily Bennett then approached Stefan and told him that Katherine had her make that ring for him (and Damon) weeks before. She explained everything that had happened since he was shot: she had found him and Damon lying dead in the woods, brought them to the quarry, and he and Damon were now transitioning into vampires. Stefan, confused, wondered how that was possible if he had never drunk Katherine's blood, but Emily confessed that Katherine had compelled him for weeks to drink her blood, while Damon drank from Katherine willingly. Stefan soon approached Damon, who recounted seeing the townspeople dragging Katherine into the church and setting it on fire. The two discussed their options, and both brothers seemingly agreed to die without transitioning, as neither one wanted to be a vampire without Katherine.

Later in the evening, Stefan began to notice that he had heightened senses, including super-hearing. He overheard his father and Johnathan Gilbert discussing the vampires being captured and destroyed, and that his father wanted to keep secret that his sons were vampire sympathizers, preferring they be known for dying nobly and bravely in the fight against the vampires. After Johnathan had left, Stefan went inside to talk to his father one last time, who was shocked to see that Stefan was "alive." Stefan wondered aloud to his father that even in their death, he still felt ashamed of his sons. Giuseppe retorted with disgusted disapproval that their mother would have been extremely disappointed in her sons, were she alive to see what they had become. He then confessed to Stefan that he was the one who had shot and killed both him and Damon, shocking Stefan. Stefan then told his father that he had not fully turned into a vampire yet and that he was choosing to let himself die instead of drinking human blood. Not taking any chances, Giuseppe tries to stake and kill Stefan. Underestimating his new-found vampire strength, Stefan threw Giuseppe against the wall, causing him to accidentally be stabbed by the wooden stake in the stomach. Overwhelmed and shocked, Stefan tried to help him, but Giuseppe refused him, disgusted by what Stefan was becoming. When Stefan pulled the stake out of his father's stomach, his bloodlust became too much for him to suppress and he tasted his father's blood, completing his transition into a full vampire.

Stefan then went to meet Damon, who had also planned to let himself die. He told Damon about how amazing it felt to be a vampire, that it was a gift; how he could willingly turn off his emotions, the pain and the guilt. Stefan had compelled a young woman to go with him to Damon, where he convinced his brother to become a vampire by drinking her blood. Damon initially refused, but Stefan would not relent, saying he couldn't let him die. Eventually Damon drank the girl's blood and told Stefan that he was right, that it felt like a whole new world being a vampire. Stefan hoped this meant they could be brothers and companions together forever, but instead Damon promised Stefan that he would make Stefan's life miserable for the rest of eternity. Weeks after he was newly turned and still lacked control of his bloodlust, Stefan went on a rampage, killing members of the Founding Families out of revenge for what they had done to Katherine. One member was Johnathan Gilbert, though he later came back to life with the help of his Gilbert ring. Stefan continued on a blood-drinking bender to try to make the guilt and pain of what he had done to Damon and his father go away. He compelled young women to go home with him, so he could toy with them and feed on their blood. When Damon found Stefan like this, he was upset by his brother's uncontrollable behavior and compelled all of the women to leave and to never come back. Damon tried to convince Stefan to control his bloodlust and moderate his behavior, but could not get through to Stefan until he announced he was leaving town. Desperate to keep his brother in his life, Stefan begged Damon not to leave, that he promised he would do better. Damon showed no sympathy for his brother's pleas and left, saying he would not let Stefan get them both killed, and that he would leave him to do that to himself.

One night, Stefan went to a camp where the war-wounded lay, and discreetly fed on their blood. It was there that he spotted a girl in the shadows and tried to attack and feed on her. Instead, she drove Stefan to the ground and turned out to be another, much older vampire by the name of Alexia Branson. Lexi needed a place to stay, so Stefan brought her home with him, where she found corpses drained of blood lying everywhere. Lexi told Stefan that he was a Ripper, and that there are good parts of being a vampire and there are bad parts, and that he was the bad parts. Determined to change that, she later walked with him through the camp where they had met, asking him how he felt about the suffering war victims. Stefan told her that he felt emotionally numb, that he felt nothing. She then explained that he felt nothing because he had managed to turn off the part that makes him feel, the human part of him; that in spite of the intensified pain and suffering vampires feel, love is what makes life worth living. Over the course of many decades, Lexi became Stefan's mentor, best friend and companion, and she showed Stefan the 'good parts' of being a vampire; how to live compassionately and reclaim the caring, empathetic person Stefan had been as a human. From 1864 to 1912, Stefan lived on a strict animal blood diet and no longer fed on human blood.

1912, Stefan returned to Mystic Falls to attend the funeral of his half-nephew, Zachariah. It was there that Stefan saw Damon for the first time in almost fifty years. Damon initially had no desire to rekindle any brotherly relationship with Stefan, but Stefan convinced Damon to join him for a drink, saying he had missed him.  Later, while at a boxing ring, Damon tried to persuade a very resistant Stefan to have a drink of human blood with him again, selecting Marianna Lockwood and luring her away from the crowd. Stefan fed on her, but quickly lost control of himself and accidentally ripped her head off, astonishing both of them. Out of extreme guilt and remorse, Stefan irrationally apologized and tried to put her head back onto her body. Stefan, angry with Damon for forcing him to drink human blood, refused Damon's offer to help him learn to control it, then ran off into the woods. Damon watched him go, concerned for his brother's well-being, though not enough to pursue him. After drinking human blood in 1912, Stefan fell off the wagon and returned to his former Ripper lifestyle. Stefan returned to Mystic Falls this year along with Lexi. Stefan asked Lexi to go to New York City to help Damon get his humanity back and to get his act together. He was in Chicago with Lexi at a Bon Jovi concert, which unbeknownst to them was Katherine watching them from afar.

He met and fell in love with Elena but after time she fell for Damon and Stefan fell for Caroline who had also (Like Lexi) turned on his humanity watch as they develop their romance.

Bonnie was born on February 5, 1992 to Rudy Hopkins and Abby Bennett in Mystic Falls, Virginia. Some time when Bonnie was a young child, her mother had abandoned her, after taking down the Original Vampire, Mikael and losing all of her powers, in order to protect her best friend Miranda Sommers-Gilbert's adoptive daughter Elena, who is a Petrova doppelgänger needed to break Klaus' Hybrid curse. Because of her mother abandoning her and her father almost never being a part of her life, Bonnie experienced severe parental abandonment. It could be assumed that since her mother abandoned her, that it was her Grams that had raised Bonnie for most of her life. Even though it isn't implied, it appears that her father, Rudy, gave Bonnie Abby's maiden name "Bennett", although the reasons for this are unknown. During Bonnie's early childhood, Bonnie became best friends with both Caroline Forbes and Elena. When Bonnie was nine years old, she lost her favorite teddy, Ms. Cuddles.

In December 22, 2007, Bonnie is fifteen years old and a freshman at Mystic Falls High School and is also helping her town prepare for the Mystic Falls Lighting of the Tree Ceremony. Bonnie threw a snowball at Elena and also revealed that her father is taking her on a trip and that she'd miss Christmas with her friends, so Elena revealed that she was going to convince her parents to let Bonnie stay for the holidays as they've never spent an holiday apart from each other. In December 22, 2008, Bonnie is a sophomore at Mystic Falls High School, at this point.

Her maternal grandmother Sheila Bennett at one point tried to explain to Bonnie about her witch heritage, although Bonnie dismissed this because she thought that her grandmother was drunk and she tried to explain to Bonnie about her witch heritage again (even though Bonnie said that she was psychic). December 22, 2011, by this time Bonnie would have told Elena about her heritage. Bonnie and Elena watched Elizabeth Forbes' speech during the Tree Lighting Ceremony and also Bonnie and her friends did secret Santa and Stefan Salvatore gave Caroline a keyring snow globe of Mystic Falls, which disappointed her and she also gave Bonnie a gift.

As Bonnie began her junior year at Mystic Falls High School, she, along with every other girl in the school, fell under the charm of Stefan Salvatore; a new, handsome and mysterious student at school. Bonnie also revealed to Elena that she is a descendant of the Salem sorcerers, and that she and her grandmother are supposedly witches. As Bonnie continues to joke about her preternatural powers, during the Back to School Party, Bonnie inexplicably reads Elena's past. A confused Bonnie lights the candles.

As Bonnie adjusts to her new life as a witch, she begins spending more and more time with her warm and loving grandmother, Sheila Bennett, who is also a witch. However, it wasn't until after the death of Sheila, Bonnie began to take the subject seriously studying all her grandmother's material. After countless battles between Damon and Stefan, Sheila died after she reluctantly agreed to break Emily Bennett's spell one of the descendants of Bonnie Bennett, and free the vampires trapped from the tomb underneath Fell's Church.

Bonnie stayed close to Elena and Caroline with time she too became close to the Salvatore brother's but she trusted Stefan before Damon, as she told Stefan that Damon had to change his ways, if one drop of innocent blood falls she would kill him. Bonnie had many love interests in her life but at the moment she loves Jeremy Gilbert, Elena little brother at first she decided to stay away but in the end she chose Jeremy and they were happy, until Bonnie called Jer and told him over the phone that she was going to die. Jeremy and Bonnie never had a goodbye before she was killed and sent to the other side, with Damon.

After her and Damon brought back Alaric, Stefan, and a few more people apart from Alexia Branson the other side was destroyed with others still in there, luckily her Grams found peace and was able to get out before the destruction. Bonnie and Damon were with each other for four months, in a prison world which repeated the same day in May 1994, which Damon called his little personal hell, while they were together Damon talked mainly about Elena and Bonnie listened, Bonnie kept reasurring him to have hope to not give up that he will see Elena Gilbert again.

Later on Bonnie and Damon unfortunely ran into Malachai "Kai" Parker who is a Siphoner and Bonnie finds out how he killed his brothers and sisters apart from Josette, Liv and Lucas, and which lead Kai to tell Damon and Bonnie that it isn't Damon's personal hell but instead it was Kai's prison world.  Bonnie saved Damon and let him return to Mystic Falls present time for Elena and she stayed with Kai, it seems like she was dying but when she woke up on a couch at the Salvatore Boarding House. Kai has brought her back to the house, where he threatens to hurt her by taking her magic if she doesn't help put the Ascendant back together and do the spell to get them out of 1994.  Bonnie in retaliation stabs him in the neck, takes the pieces of the Ascendant, and flees the boarding house. After that Bonnie drove Damon's car at the Mystic Falls Medical Center, where she takes pain pills and antibiotics while treating her arrow wound. Bonnie puts the Ascendant back together, only to realize that she's missing a piece. The lights go out at the medical center, and Bonnie finds Kai waiting for her in the hallway. She uses her magic on him then flees with the pieces of the Ascendant. Bonnie climbs back in Damon's car, where she tries to start the car, but it has been sabotaged by Kai. He appears behind her seat, where he wraps his hands around her throat and threatens her again. They are next seen in the cave, where Kai gives Bonnie Ms. Cuddles and admits that he wants to be a better person like her. Bonnie doesn't buy his act and instead of sending them to present time, she places her magic in Ms. Cuddles and sends her to present time with it. Bonnie is last seen telling Kai they're stuck forever and sarcastically apologizing, while Kai stares at her angrily. 

 Kai opens the trunk of a car to reveal her inside. She has been drugged and tied up by Kai, who has flown them from Mystic Falls to Portland, where his family home is located. Kai tells her today is Thanksgiving in present time and offers to make Thanksgiving dinner for them. The two make a deal that she will have dinner with him then they will go their separate ways with Kai letting her take the car. Kai reveals his history to Bonnie, including why he killed his family and how he ended up trapped in the prison world. After dinner, Bonnie follows Kai outside to a tree stump in the front yard. Kai reveals that he has always wondered what happened to Jo's magic when they tried to merge and realizes that she put her magic away for safety like Bonnie did with Ms. Cuddles. He removes the knife that he used to stab his siblings from the tree stump and absorbs the magic from it. Kai tells Bonnie that he has watched her cast the spell to get them out of 1994 twice and has realized that he doesn't need her magic, just her blood. Bonnie is stabbed in the stomach by Kai with the same knife that he used on his siblings. She passes out from the pain of the stab wound and awakens hours later to find both Kai and the car gone. Bonnie picks up Kai's pager when it begins to beep and finds a message that reads: I LIED. The episode ends with Bonnie cursing Kai for taking the car and leaving her trapped alone in Portland.

Bonnie  calls Damon and Elena from a payphone. They have left a message on Kai's pager, thinking that he has Bonnie with him somewhere. She reveals to them what has happened since Damon was sent back to present time. Damon and Elena reveal that they're here to bring her back to present time if she can make it back to Mystic Falls from Muncie, Indiana in seven hours. Bonnie has spent the last couple of days driving from Portland, Oregon back to Mystic Falls. She is only 6 1/2 hours away, which means that she can make it to Mystic Falls with half an hour to spare if she doesn't stop to make restroom breaks. Bonnie is not seen again until near the end of the episode, when she is seen running up to the Gilbert House. She stopped at the Salvatore Boarding House, where she found a note from Damon that they were waiting for her on the porch of the Gilbert House. Bonnie frantically checks the porch, the foyer of the house, and finally realizes that she is alone. Damon and Elena aren't waiting for her because Liv ended her spell early, meaning that Bonnie is once again trapped alone in the prison world. Bonnie tries to be brave, smiling slightly for a moment before finally breaking down, sinking to her knees as she sobs.

Bonnie tries to make the best of her situation by recreating her favorite time of the year. She drags a Christmas tree out of Damon's car into the parking lot of Mystic Falls High School, where the yearly town celebration takes place. Bonnie is also seen in flashbacks to 2007 and 2009, where she is celebrating the holidays with Elena and Caroline. In the 2007 flashback, Bonnie is first seen throwing a snowball at Elena, who declares war on her. She is next seen stringing popcorn into garland with Elena, while telling her that Rudy is taking her out of town for the holidays due to a business conference. Elena offers to talk to her parents about Bonnie staying with them because the girls have never celebrated Christmas apart. In the prison world, Bonnie has strung her popcorn garland and lights, which she lights with an extension cord that she drags to her tree. In the 2009 flashback, Elena, Caroline, and Bonnie watch the tree lighting. Bonnie has received a beautiful bracelet from Caroline after the group had a Secret Santa Exchange. Back in the prison world, Bonnie admits that she misses her friends then sets her Christmas tree on fire. Bonnie is last seen walking away from her burning Christmas tree with an empty expression on her face.

Tyler was born to Mayor Richard Lockwood and Carol Lockwood on February 10, 1992 in Mystic Falls, Virginia. He lived a pretty much normal childhood his father had anger issues but Tyler discovered the reason why after his father's death. After discovering that the werewolf gene runs through his family, Tyler was scared to become a werewolf himself and his fears became true when he accidentally killed Sarah and triggered the curse. Caroline Forbes, a vampire who wasn't his friend, offered her support to him, helping him through his first transformation and preparation for his new life. Tyler eventually fell for Caroline, but questioned their relationship when Jules, another werewolf and Mason's friend, told him that Caroline and two other vampires, Stefan and Damon Salvatore, killed Mason. Finding out that this was true, Tyler felt betrayed and leaned towards the werewolf brethren. He hesitated to help Caroline when she and the Salvatore's were at the brink of death, which hurt her, causing her to cut off their friendship. He was the one who revealed Mason's plan to break the curse to Jules and her boyfriend Brady. He then helps them find the moonstone and the doppelgänger. Stefan reveals to Tyler that Jules and Brady had lied to him and that Elena would die in the ritual to break the curse. He releases Stefan who kills Brady before he can capture Elena during which time the rest of the pack is killed by Elijah. He then decides to leave town with Jules, the only survivor, with a promise that she wouldn't lie to him anymore. After receiving a phone call from his mother telling him that she had an accident and was in the hospital, Tyler and Jules returned to Mystic Falls. They were both captured by Maddox and Greta Martin, witches working for Klaus, and were to be used in the sacrifice that would make Klaus a vampire/werewolf hybrid. Tyler and Caroline, who had also been captured for the sacrifice ritual, were rescued by Damon, who was later bitten by Tyler during his transformation. Tyler and Caroline eventually start a relationship, which becomes rocky when he becomes Klaus's first successful hybrid. His life is made much easier when his transformations cease to happen unwillingly and Tyler becomes very respectful of Klaus, trying to sabotage his friends' plots against him, which is later revealed to be due to a sire bond.

He later called it off and after time he discovered he had feelings for someone else, a Valli, Tyler knew and respected Cole Valli as another werewolf but what he wasn't expecting was to fall for his daughter Hannah Lorin Valli, he knew that she had the curse as well though she was untriggered Tyler made sure that she didn't trigger it before she was told, Tyler and Hannah share many things in common track, football, music oh when he heard he sing he fell even more for her. So they hung out quite a lot until one day after school they went to the grill and Tyler confessed how he felt about her and she felt the same way, they wondered what would happen next when Hannah took Tyler by surprise when she kissed him.

Jeremy is the adoptive brother and biological cousin of Elena Gilbert. He is also the memeber of Brotherhood of the Five. His best friends are Matt Donovan, Tyler Lockwood and Bonnie Bennett who was also his girlfriend. He lived in the Salvatore Boarding House with his sister and her boyfriend Damon Salvatore. His parents died in a tragic car accident that Elena managed to survive all thanks to a vampire, Stefan Salvatore, who rescued her before she could drown. As a way of coping with the accident, he started dealing and using drugs, but soon stopped after the death of his first girlfriend, Vicki Donovan, who has supposedly died of overdose. Following the murder of his second girlfriend Anna, Jeremy purposely overdosed on pills after drinking vampire blood in the hope of becoming a vampire so he could turn off his humanity switch. However, his attempt to become a vampire failed, and the blood healed the damage the pills caused to his system.

After experiencing multiple traumatic events as a result of the supernatural drama in his town, including being compelled by Klaus to stand in front of a speeding car, Elena feared for his safety and arranged for Damon to compel him to live with family friends in Denver. He returned to Mystic Falls after Elena and Damon learned that Klaus was aware of where he was living and traveled to bring him back. Jeremy was revealed to be a potential supernatural vampire hunter and, following the death of Connor Jordan, he activated his membership into The Five. After he helped Professor Shane free Silas from his tomb, he was forced by Katherine Pierce to raise the immortal.
